Starlit Prose began in 2019 as a creative hobby, born from a lifelong love of books and a desire to bring that love into everyday life.
It started with a simple idea: to create bookish shirts that I would genuinely love to wear myself. I wanted designs that reflected the stories, characters and fictional worlds I loved, but I wasn't always finding the kinds of things I was looking for. So, rather than waiting for them to exist, I decided to start creating them.
What began on Redbubble eventually grew into an Etsy shop, and over time, that little creative hobby became something much bigger than I initially imagined.
For me, Starlit Prose has always been about more than selling bookish merchandise. It's a creative outlet, a way to express my love of reading, and an opportunity to turn the things that inspire me into something tangible that other readers can enjoy, too.
More than just stories
I've always been a quiet introvert, and books have always offered a special kind of comfort. They're a way to escape into another world, experience something new, and find pieces of yourself in characters and stories you might never have encountered otherwise.
But one of the wonderful things about being a reader is discovering that, even when you're quietly enjoying a book on your own, you're part of something much bigger.
There are so many people out there who understand the excitement of finding a new favourite author, the heartbreak of finishing a story you aren't ready to leave behind, or the feeling of being completely consumed by a fictional world. People who understand why certain characters mean so much, why a particular quote stays with you, or why you might want to bring a little piece of your favourite story into your everyday life.
Finding that community has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Starlit Prose has become a way for me to connect with fellow booklovers through creativity. It's a reminder that you don't have to be the loudest person in the room to find your people. Sometimes, all it takes is a shared love of a story.
